Indocin 50mg / 75mg has wide range of diversity to reduce the pain. Indocin has a very good antipyretic action, anti-inflammatory action and has analgesic action.

Do not use Indocin if

  • you have had a severe allergic reaction (like severe rash, hives, trouble breathing, growths in the nose, dizziness) to aspirin or an NSAID (eg, ibuprofen, celecoxib)
  • you are taking diflunisal, another NSAID (eg, ibuprofen)
  • you have recently had or will be having bypass heart surgery
  • you are pregnant or planning to conceive
  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Indocin

Some medicines may interact with this drug. Ask your doctor if you are taking any other medicines along with the Indocin

  • Anticoagulants like warfarin, heparin, other NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors e.g. fluoxetine because the risk of stomach bleeding may be increased
  • Potassium-sparing diuretics because the risk of kidney problems or increased blood potassium levels may be increased
  • Cyclophosphamide because low blood sodium levels may occur
  • Cyclosporine, digoxin, lithium, methotrexate, quinolones (eg, ciprofloxacin), or sulfonylureas (eg, glipizide) because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Indocin
  • Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, beta-blockers, or diuretics (eg, furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide) because their effectiveness may be decreased by Indocin

Method how to take Indocin

  • It is available in several dosage form like liquid form, extended-release capsules, and suppositories form. Tablet form of Indocin comes in 75mg.
  • Take this drug by mouth with food or without food. This may not lower the risk of stomach or bowel problems. Talk with your physician if you have persistent stomach upset.
